The
Current Situation
Since 1994,
and continuing on our mission, Oleson Saw Technology, Inc., (OSTI) is
helping saw mills improve their lumber quality and recovery by pioneering
vari-pitch & depth band saws, and by supplying our high precision thin
kerf guided circular gang saws. Most recently, OSTI is promoting the latest
in automatic precision CNC saw maintenance equipment for the filing room.
Our experienced sales staff possesses the strong technical knowledge necessary
to support our customers in the pursuit of maximizing the performance
of their saws and upgrading their filing rooms for the 21st century.
The
History
Oleson Saw Technology Inc. is the successor organization to what had formerly
been the long-established and respected firm of E.G. Oleson & Son (EGO&S).
EGO&S was a distributor of cutting tools, mill and filing room equipment
and provided saw and knife sharpening services. Due to their location
in Westbrook, ME, EGO&S focused on the Northeastern U.S. wood markets.
In 1994, with the acquisition of a band saw manufacturing facility in Emigsville, PA, EGO&S was reorganized to become Oleson Saw Technology, Inc. OSTI. The mission of the new organization is to provide a complete program of service and training, and to help customers achieve maximum performance form the cutting tools and filing room equipment purchased from Oleson.
To this end, we opened our Filer Training Center in 1997. To continue improving our service to our customers, we expanded our circular saw manufacturing facility in 1998.
